Bikram Yoga Review |"the place and employees were phenomenal"
Last updated 6 years ago
I wish I loved Bikram Yoga, because I'd be much healthier than I am. Being a "chunky monkey," (my cuter name for being a little thick,) I was excited to try hot yoga. I checked out the website out and it says "Every class is a Bikram's beginner class." I am a little self-conscience, so this sounded like a great place for me. No judgments, and a new, different yoga experience than I get at my local gym. I arrived 30 minutes ahead of time, like suggested. I was very happy with the staff and decided to invest in the deal they had at the time. I think it was 30 days for USD 30. (This was over a year ago, so I am not sure of the exact deal.) BRING YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT! They have a incense enhanced shop downstairs, that sells all the stuff from water to yoga mats, but it is PRICEY!!!! As we were ushered upstairs, I felt like such a tool. Here I came with sneaks, a hoodie, and a giant bottle of water. They have cubbies upstairs, but I was the only one to use it. There were a lot of people who were regulars in the session I took, and maybe two other noobs. I felt REAAALY out of place a lot. I stumbled, was not as flexible as most (even the so called beginners.) At least twice I felt as if I was about to pass out, and once I thought I was going to vomit. (They warn you of this.) I did sweat a lot. The times in the class I thought I was about to die, I didn't. In the end, I did enjoy it. I do remember the extra strut in my step walking out to my car after the class. I went home felt rejuvenated, but the stress leading up to it was a little more than what I had in me. I keep saying to myself, once I get into a little better shape, I will go back. I can't give this studio a bad review because the place and employees were phenomenal. It is just me. I would love to go back but, I just am not sure I am Bikram material.
